All Around the World. UVU YSA 2nd Stake, Orem, Utah Mission. January 29th, 2018

I've come to reason that UVU/Orem/Utah is the place to be. People from Nigeria, Rwanda, Idaho, Maine, California, Norway, Italy, New York, China, and many more places come here.. And we get to meet and teach them! It's the coolest thing.

Yesterday we had 8 lessons with people, and for the first time in I think my entire mission, we only went to 1 sacrament meeting! It was such a great day and we got to teach some awesome, Spirit filled lessons. Last night we had a lesson with someone who's trying to get re-baptized, and we strongly felt like we should share a video on prayer and talk about the importance of prayer. After the lesson was over he said, "thanks, I've set goals of things I want to learn about, and the first one I had was prayer." The Holy ghost obviously knew what we needed to talk to him about :)

One of the funnier moments from yesterday, was with our last lesson of the night. It was with John, who's originally from Italy, but moved to New York half-way through his life. We met him last week at a dinner appointment, and he was interested in learning more! Anyway, when we knocked on the door to talk to him, John answered, wearing nothing but a women's bathrobe, and when he opened the door we saw 3 missionaries that we had never seen before in his apartment. It was a confusing moment.  Then John's roommate, Mitch, called the girl with us (Mia) "Walmart lady" (She works there) and said he thought that those elders had replaced us. Turns out, they were from the Provo Missionary, and were Korean speaking missionaries! They left pretty quickly after they had arrived. Interesting moment haha. We later found out, after a great lesson with John, that the Bathrobe was him mom's, and he didn't think anyone would ever see him in it. haha. An interesting mission moment for sure!

Other cool things from this week:
-Solange (who's from Tanzania originally) had her baptism interview on Saturday, and is getting baptized this weekend! We also met her cousin from Rwanda, AJ, who's been to church a few times and loves it!
-Teo (Got baptized Dec 23) is doing awesome, and brought his friend Gift to church Sunday. We have started meeting with him which has been the coolest. They met in Romania and are still good friends.
- We found out that P's real name is Pelumi (She's from Nigeria) P is super sassy and hilarious, and is going to be baptized February 10th! We also found out that her and Bright (Who's in our ward) will be getting married that night!!
- We had a great lesson with Jerry (from China) about Jesus Christ. He has no basic understanding of God and Jesus Christ, so it's been humbling for me to be able to teach him.
- We got a referral recently for someone who speaks sign language, and also lives in our Mid-singles Ward! I'm really excited for that.

Once again, this gospel is true. Not only is it true, but it is literally Jesus Christ's Church once again established to the earth. Find out why that can change your life on mormon.org or lds.org

I'm so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ. Without Him I don't know what I would do! I'm grateful a loving Heavenly Father who answers my prayers and knows when I'm struggling.

Have a wonderful week! :)

Love,
Sister Crofts
