This week was an eventful one! We had the last District training meeting of the transfer with our awesome district, and we all wore red white and blue to celebrate haha! That day we also had lunch with our Senior Couple, the Boyd's and took a picture with them.
Friday was cool, because we got to go to a Sisters Training Meeting, where we got to hear from Sister Killpack and a few other Sisters and learned more about helping out with the Jordan River Temple open house! I'm so excited for that I'll get to be by and around and in the temple often and be able to help more people feel the peace that it brings.
*Side note, on Sunday in one of our Sacrament meetings, the bishop got up to talk about going to the temple. Wherever you are, go to the temple! Even if you can't currently go inside, go to the temple grounds and feel of the peace it brings. In Utah, everyone is blessed to have temples so close to them. Take advantage of it if you have a temple near you, and do all you can to get inside! It truly is a house of God.
That same day President Killpack came to a lesson with us. It was with Gift, Teo's friend/roomate, who was a little scary/difficult before, and we ended up having a great lesson with him and all learning a lot together.
The next morning was Pelumi's baptism! It was awesome to see her take that step, she truly is such a great friend to me. That same night she was married, which we also got to go to (so cool) . They are such a great couple and it's awesome that they both have the desire to work towards being sealed in the temple in a year! She was confirmed the next day, and we both got a little teary eyed when she found out we wouldn't be able to teach her anymore since she's moving and into the family ward :( but I assured her we would keep in touch!
I'm so grateful for the gospel. It is such a blessing in my life. And I know I've said it before, but the Book of Mormon is SO TRUE! And because it's true, we know how much God loves us and how true this gospel is. I am so grateful and blessed. And I feel honored that God is allowing me to play a small part in the people I teach lives'. It truly is such a gift to me.
I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ. But, He's not just my Savior, He's yours too! Take advantage of His Atonement and change your life for the better.
